First day: But not the first time of chemo for Nathalie

Nathalie at the hospital
receiving her first of second round of chemo
Today was the first day of chemo for Nathalie. The treatment took much longer than expected. It started at 8:30am and it was over only at 3pm. Nathalie said:" I am totally exhausted". The drug was injected to her body non stop during the whole time. Even if it seems very difficult at first, the best thing to do the first day of a chemo treatment is trying to be in a very positive mindset. Despite what the word "chemo" vehicle, consider this drug as your best friend to get out of this rough patch.

Nathalie also told me that she isn't feeling the nausea yet. The thing with chemo is that the first treatment is not the most difficult one. What makes it very difficult is the cumulative treatment one after the other one with all the side effects that come with it.

Nathalie received her treatment in a room for herself. She thought the chemo would be given in a big room with many people and was nicely pleased that it wasn't the case. One bad surprise on the first day at the hospital is the fact the they dont provide free meals anymore. What a surprise for Nathalie who expected to get a meal as usual. She got a little dry sandwich for the whole day and left the hospital starving.

After that long day Nathalie got back home and glad that the day was over. The first chemo treatment is now one thing that Nathalie can leave behind with no regrets. Eight more weeks to go and Nathalie can start thinking about a new chapter of her life. The return to a normal life.
