Nathalie Lost Her Job: A Blow To Her Health Too

Nathalie's contract ending
April 2011.
Wednesday we were all watching non stop our corporate emails. Some waiting for their good and others waiting for the bad. I was glancing at Nathalie. She was starring at her emails and finally she got it - We are sorry to inform you that your contract is not extended. Nathalie was in shock and devastated. She was seriously affected by the bad news. Based on company needs and not on performance some people didn't get their contract extended. Nathalie always exceeded expectations and thought that it would have an impact on the decision making. Obviously it didn't.

Join the ranks of the unemployed is not exactly a feel-good event. You don't need a study to tell you that. Nathalie says:"I lost one pound since last week, I lost a tiny bit in white cell count number, I lost my appetite, I lost my job and I lost my good spirit that helped me keep going through this cancer journey".

Nathalie's struggle with the medical bills is obviously more important than before. On top of that some studies found that loosing a job triggers serious physical and physiological illness. Nathalie is starting her second round of chemo therapy Friday March 4th at Dominican Hospital located in Santa Cruz.

On her blog she says: " This week was particularly tough, especially on the emotional side. I have been fed up about a lot of things: the continuous nausea, the weird radiation side effects, the weight gain struggle, the difficulty to maintain my red cell count at a normal rate, the numerous medical appointments and work. I am tired of feeling ill, tired to not being appreciated for who I am really, tired about a lot of things.I know I have to find motivation for going through the next round of chemo. This will be the most difficult challenge to overcome. If, at least, I would have a glimpse of hope somewhere…"

A challenge is the opportunity for greatness. I now challenge each of you to do something good.By supporting Nathalie you contribute to: Boost Nathalie's moral, lift up her spirit, give her positive energy, make her life better and teach her kids that life and people are the most important things.

ZapCancer is one of a kind of opportunity to do all of it. Are you ready to take that wonderful opportunity? If so you are just one click away. If not you are missing out - Big time!

Nathalie's Parents Giving Back - What a SWEET Gift!

Pouring warm maple syrup
on snow
Nathalie’s parents, Gilles and Suzanne St-Pierre, have a sugar shack, Erablière Suzanne, located on the Montreal’s south shore in Canada.

This century-old sugar shack produces prime quality maple syrup that is produce mostly for private clients. Both of Nathalie’s parents come from families that have been doing this typical French-Canadian tradition to make maple syrup as well as any derivative products from the maple trees’ sap. They are delighted to offer one can of this year’s production (2011) to a lucky winner. The good news - It could be YOU!

It is so cool to now be able to truthfully say that all of us are helping and supporting Nathalie like I would never have imagined possible. After one week we reached the $3300 mark as of today Monday 21st. So far more than 50 contributors donated to the gift card. This is just amazing.

Zap Cancer - A fundraiser for Nathalie

Hey friends, friends of friends, all of you out there

"I have to tell you something...... Yes! Today Zap Cancer is live."

Zap Cancer is a gift card fundraiser to support Nathalie. She was diagnosed with recurring
cervical cancer in September 2010 but it all started in 2009. Last December she started an intensive and very expensive 6 weeks of radio and chemotherapy. Going through these tough treatments she kept working full time. She told me " I am the one who holds down the fort." Nathalie will have to receive another round of chemotherapy starting very soon. This time her entire body is targeted. Consequently, her post treatments symptoms will be worst.

Everyday since last September 2010 my team and I are witnessing her pain and her state of mind. But we are just witnesses, instead I decided to be an actor in the life of Nathalie, so I created Zap Cancer. To help offset the outrageous medical bills and to honor Nathalie's strength, courage and determination she showed from the day she received her diagnosis, I am asking to all of you people to contribute to the gift card. The minimum amount required by from:
Everyone.com is $5 from each contributor. Indeed you can give more and the good news: it's free of any fees. I partnered with from:Everyone.com an online gift group for three simple reasons. It's safe, friendly and reliable.

Here is what Zap Cancer will be about:

  • Follow us. We will talk a lot about interesting topics or just check out how we are doing.
  • Participate in a trivia to win a chance for another custom T-Shirt.
  • Spread the word. Share us on Facebook, Twitter, tell a friend, subscribe to our feed. Let the world know we are out there
  • Open your eyes! you will see us. We will wear a very bright green vest  My team and I will also have yellow flyers and posters in our cars.

Life Is Priceless
Your Donation Is Golden

Thanks So Much
